Sometimes there really isn’t a need for words

We provide therapeutic interventions using the visual arts, including drawing, painting, sculpture, sand and play.  

Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome. We work with individuals or groups (Max. 3) using arts processes such as painting to create meaning, and open communication avenues for our participants. Participants are given the opportunity to bypass verbal communication, and are encouraged to express themselves as they choose, enabling a supported therapeutic environment. 

There are many reasons why a person might benefit from seeing an arts therapist, including being able to:

  • express feelings that may be difficult to verbalise
  • open up imagination and creativity 
  • develop healthy coping skills and focus
  • improve self-esteem and confidence
  • increase communication skills
  • share in a safe nurturing environment
  • improve motor skills and physical coordination
  • identify blocks to emotional expression and personal growth
